This is functionality that I would like to see in a future update to the AUS ROG ALC1150 Codec. Not only that, clicking on the jack icons on the right after they have been plugged in brings up the same dialog box so that you can repurpose them dynamically. It looks similar, but plugging in a device in the **REAR** jacks (the ASUS version only does this for the front jacks) brings up a dialog box for 'which device did you plug in?'. That's fine, but in Realtek's implementation: Notice the jacks that are plugged in are colored, while the ones that aren't plugged in are grayed out. The screenshot below shows my main concern: I have a Maximus VI Hero, and after recently setting everything up and updating my audio drivers to the latest found on the ASUS ROG site (Version 601.6923), I noticed that the ROG version of the Realtek HD Audio Manager is crippled in certain functionality compared to Realtek's own HD Audio Manager (which I used in my previous setup).
